Founders, Serena and Kirsty, are very busy mothers with three young children each. Eighteen months ago, they set out with great determination and enthusiasm to create a business that would work around their families and home life and would focus on bringing unique, beautiful and decorative products to homes all across New Zealand.

They quickly saw the opportunity in the very reliable process known as heat sublimation for transferring artwork and pictures on to ceramic tiles.

Immediately a group of photographers began to be recruited into the Naturally Gifted Franchise network. Some have helped by allowing use of their images, for Naturally Gifted to sell as a standard range and others have begun to retail their images on tiles produced specifically for them.

Following months of research and many late nights in a cold garage and  ‘burning the midnight oil’, the technique, production process, supply lines and total business process have been firmly established.

There have been casualties –namely the husbands, who not only have had to fend for themselves and children in the evenings but who may have been at times severely distraught at being thrown out of their ‘man shed’. 

However, a very successful product range of great quality is being produced and many further product ranges and market avenues (including Australia) are being explored.

Customers are reporting a ‘fantastic level of service and satisfaction’.

Nationally, over thirty retail shops are now supplied with a commission agent on regular call cycles.

There are over ten photographers and artists committed to the business and process.

Many happy clients include, Corporate, Kindergartens, People and Pet memorials, weddings and even owners of vintage motor vehicles.

Serena and Kirsty have been highly successful in creating this business around busy family lives and are pleased to report they have retained their sanity and that their respective spouses, having seen the rewards of this business are also getting over the loss of their ‘man shed’.
