Kelly Mitchell knew that she wanted something to do after her baby was born but she also wanted to spend as much time as possible with him.

So she and her husband Stephen looked aound for something suitable and recently found it in a franchise magazine.  The business is called Naturally Gifted and Kelly opened this week at her home at 732 Richmond Rd in Lepperton.

Naturally Gifted was given life in Auckland by two woman who also wanted to work from home.  It involves transferring artwork and photographic images onto ceramic and glass tiles.

"They are a excellent fund-raiser for places like kindergartens" says Kelly. "The children create their own art and parents can put in an order for me to put artwork on the tiles.

These tiles can be used as coasters, wall hangings, as decorative tiles in the kitchen and bathrooms.  You can even create a theme for these rooms and have it made in the tiles. "You are limited only by your imagination," says Kelly.

Shes says the tiles will make great corporate gifts for the staff or clients.  Grandparents could proudly show off their grandkids every time they offer visitors a coaster.  Indeed, a family portrait could be transferred onto tiles.

The tiles can be inserted into jewellery box lids and gift boxes, making ideal and unusual gifts.

But it is not all arty stuff, these tiles can be put to a more practical use as well. They make beautiful inserts into bench tops, says Kelly and, being heat resistant, can be used for hot pots and bakeware. Wholesale and corporate enquires welcome for all products.
